A New Direction

Over the past year, Cozy & Content has been quietly changing.

What began as a bookstore has gradually become something a little different. Anyone who knows me knows I’m drawn to ghosts and spirits, but over time my love of spooky things has developed into a calling to delve deeper into spiritualism of all kinds, herbalism, rootwork, tarot, and so much more.

2026 has been a year of change. It’s a cliché to say that I’ve experienced a metamorphosis, and all the pain associated with that, but it’s the truth.

And so Cozy, along with me, has changed. The cozy is still here, and so is the content, but it’s becoming so much more. I want it to be a place where books share the shelves with handcrafted ritual goods, Appalachian folk traditions, locally gathered botanicals, old curiosities, and the kinds of objects that carry stories of their own.

This path involves a lot of learning, and one thing I’ve learned about myself is that I enjoy creating. The things I’ve enjoyed creating most have been the handmade pieces: pouring candles, blending incense, crafting oils and waters, preparing iron wards, and exploring the folklore and traditions that have shaped these mountains for generations.

Books will always have a place here. Reading has always been at the heart of Cozy & Content, and it always will be. But moving forward, you’ll see more of the work that happens in my studio alongside the shelves.

By the Lantern is where I’ll be sharing that journey.

You’ll find updates on new creations, notes from the workshop, Appalachian folklore, seasonal traditions, book recommendations, behind-the-scenes projects, and whatever interesting discoveries find their way onto my workbench.
